In what almost seems like a two-fingered “fuck you” to Japan and Australia’s duopoly on the Ralliart Colt, Mitsubishi Motors UK have released the limited-edition Mitsubishi Colt Black Hawk package.
Equipped with a naturally-aspirated 1.1 litre 3-cylinder engine the base Black Hawk won’t be re-writing the record books anytime soon, but the up-spec CZT Black Hawk gets a turbocharged 1.5 litre 4-pot to add some mumbo to match the outlandish styling.
Speaking of styling, the Black Hawk only comes in black, with a set of silver GT stripes to let everybody know that you couldn’t afford a Ford GT you’re not driving any run-of-the-mill Colt. The CZT Black Hawk benefits from a different front bumper, side skirts and spoiler and also gains some 17-inch wheels as well as a few extra chrome pieces. The base model is plain-Jane simple.
Traction and stability control is only available on the CZT, as are side airbags and electrically-adjustable side mirrors, making the base model look positively bare. Besides, being Japanese Performance Car News, we don’t really care about the 3-cylinder, as it only has a paltry 55kW with which to motivate itself. The CZT doubles that number with 110kW while torque is more than doubled at 210Nm, both of which endow the CZT with a respectable 0-100km/h time of 7.2 seconds. That being said, no amount of performance prowess can save the Colt Black Hawk from its garish appearance.
If you can look past the pretentious stripes, then head over to Mitsubishi UK to find out more.
