One #@$!*?& Quick Evo: Mitsubishi’s Evo X Now In FQ360 Flavour

Most of you will probably remember those UK-only special versions of the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII and IX: The chav-tastically named FQ-series Evos (the FQ stands for “Fucking Quick”, chaps). Well, Mitsubishi UK have done it again with the Evo X GSR FQ360.

As the name suggests, the FQ360 has been tweaked to produce 360hp (268kW), a substantial improvement over the standard X’s 219kW. HKS are the mob responsible for the engine modifications, which consisted of a new intake system, larger intercooler, low-restriction exhaust and remapped ECU.

Nothing much to see here, except for some carbon-fibre cladding and a solitary shiny pipe.
Will we ever see an Evo X FQ400 take the baton from the Evo IX FQ400? According to Ralliart UK, it’s unlikely. 360hp is said to be the maximum output of the 4B11’s standard internals, and developing a custom motor would raise the price beyond acceptable levels.

For now though, the FQ360 should provide more than enough AWD turbo thrills for English motorists. Inside Line’s European editor Alistair Weaver was lucky enough to sample one of these, so head over to IL to check out his review.
