Honda’s in-house tuning company Mugen have released their own sports suspension kit for the new GE6 Honda Fit/Jazz, which forms the latest in a series of aftermarket upgrades for the diminutive hatchback.
The suspension upgrade, which consists of lowered springs and stiffer dampers, was actually announced late last year, but has only recently become available for purchase. These aren’t super hard time-attack-spec springs mind you, but at 2.3kg/mm and 2kg/mm for the front and rear respectively they’re still stiffer than stock. They’ll also lower your car by 20mm all round, which I’ve heard is great for impressing chicks/grinding your undercarriage off on speed humps.
The dampers have been revalved to harden up cornering performance, but we still think that if you’re after a genuinely firm ride you’d be better off with a proper coilover system, like Tein’s Basic Damper for the GD3 Fit - just make sure it bolts up to the GE6’s suspension first, of course.
However, if you’re a total Mugen geek (and we know there are a few of you), then you can nab yourself a set of these for the princely sum of 99,750 JPY. Check with Mugen for more info.
