Renderings: 2010 Honda NSX

Best Car magazine just don’t know when to quit, do they?

Honda’s newest iteration of the NSX is widely tipped to make its debut in 2010, however it seems that absolutely no-one knows what the thing will actually look like. Japan’s Best Car magazine have produced their own take on Honda/Acura’s upcoming hero car, and it’s already had a mixed reception amongst online enthusiasts. Personally I think it looks sporty enough, but it lacks the hardness, the uncompromisingly purposeful shape of the first-generation NSX, and auto enthusiasts will be looking to see if Honda will carrry over those elements to the new car. Of course, a completely new design is a necessity given that a longitudinally-mounted V10 will be residing up front, however it seems that BC are a little of the mark with this design.

What we do know is that Honda have spent an extensive amount of time on developing the drivetrain and suspension package at the Nurburgring using a cut-and-shut S2000 as a test mule, and are aiming at a 7 minute 30 second laptime. The prototype sounds great (although it lacks the primal howl of the LF-A prototype), and you can witness it in action in the video below.
