Curtis Merrill, for “Most Creative Use Of A Nissan Engine”. Merrill’s Frankenstein of a car combines components from a grand total of five, count ‘em, five different automakers to create what is probably the automotive equivalent of a patchwork quilt.
“WTF?” I hear you say, “Wat iz dat Land Rover doin on JPCN LOLZ?”. Well, let’s take a look under the bonnet…

There you go. For those that don’t know, that’s a 3-litre turbocharged VG30ET Nissan V6 from a Z31 300ZX. Merrill doesn’t say if he’s fiddled around with it, but judging from its rather grubby appearance we don’t think he’s opened it up. The only modification has been to add a bracket for…

The hydraulic pump for the Citroen DS hydraulic suspension! Yup, this baby rides on hydros, and Merrill swears that the hydraulic struts in combination with the new adjustable SM-based suspension allows his Land Rover to “really accelerate when exiting a corner”.

There’s more Nissan love in the driveline, with the 5-speed manual gearbox, transfer case and front diff all originating from a Pathfinder. The rear differential is from a Jaguar, and sports a set of nifty inboard brake discs, while the front brakes have also been relocated to the differential. Don’t like unsprung weight? Get some inboard discs!

All of this rides on a custom-made boxed frame and is clothed by that classic Land Rover body. As for the fifth manufacturer, you’ll have to look a bit harder for that one: the door latches are from a Mercedes Benz.
