Nismo’s R35 Enduro Racer Spotted Testing At Sendai

Nismo’s entrant for the upcoming Tokachi 24 hour enduro has been spotted at the Sendai Highland circuit undergoing testing in preparation for the big race, which begins on July 20.

Clothed in a vibrant hue of red, the stripped-out GT-R is supposedly a testbed for Nismo’s future parts line-up for the R35 and as we can see from GTR-World’s awesome photos, it seems there’s also a couple of Spec-V parts on this car, such as the carbon-fibre vented front lip.

As mentioned before, Nismo have elected to improve the power-to-weight ratio of the R35 by concentrating on the weight side of the equation and leaving the powertrain as stock. We can now confirm that in addition to the stripped interior, carbon fibre seat, bootlid and bonnet, the Nismo Motul racer also features acrylic rear quarter glass and a pair of tasty looking carbon side mirror housings. The front bumper has also been modified to allow more air into the various heat exchangers behind it, while the iconic GT-R emblem has even been replaced with a sticker in order to promote a high airflow.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this car is that adjustable coilover suspension system we see being attended to in the picture below.

Will these coilovers eventually become available to the general public as a Nismo-branded part, or are they just a one-off race only special? We should find out in the next few months, however they sure look like mighty fine pieces of kit. Unfortunately we still haven’t been able to get a good look at the braking hardware on this car, however the familiar gold Brembo calipers suggest that it retains the stock steel rotors rather than the carbon-composite rotors of the Spec-V.
