We all know the stereotype: a bearded, overweight Star Wars fan living in his mother’s basement, surrounded by rack after rack of official SW memorabilia and spending many a hot, sweaty night tapping out bizarre Chewie-on-C3PO fan fiction.
Sad yes, funny maybe, but as much as we all like to laugh at the archetypical Boba Fett-lovin’ Star Wars geek, more often than not we’re all guilty of our own nerdy sins. I, for one, know many a GT-R/Silvia/Z/Supra tragic, and a good number of them have splurged a great deal of their hard-earned on some rather dubious car-related merchandise - all in the name of showing off their own particular brand allegiance.
Fanning the flames of fanboyism is Nissan, who’s kicked its GT-R merchandising efforts up a notch with this R35-emblazoned Snap-On toolchest. The toolchest looks to be of a decent size and being a Snap-On product it isn’t liable to break anytime this century. But would you really want one in your garage? Trying to impress your mates with this puppy would be the grown-up equivalent of trying to get to second base with the girl next door - on top of your Transformers bedspread. The toolchest that lies underneath all those graphics I could use, but the graphics themselves I could live without. Let’s leave this one to the fanboys… Thanks for the tip, Matt!
