That Didn’t Take Long: Inside Line Publish First 370Z Review

The lucky devils over at Inside Line have already gotten their mitts on a 370Z press car and they’ve got the road test to prove it.

Among other things, IL’s crew managed to pin down one of the Z34’s heretofore unknown parameters during their time with the car - its 0-60mph (96.6kph) sprint time.

5.1 seconds is the magic number, and not only is it a great result for a naturally-aspirated RWD sports coupe, but it also puts the Nissan a whisker ahead of Porsche’s Cayman S.

The quarter mile is dispatched in a swift 13.4 seconds, stopping distance from 96kph is just 30.8m and the Z can sustain 0.97g on a skidpan as well. Not bad.

IL also mention that the special engine oil and differential coolers that were fitted to the LA preview cars will actually be on offer to the buying public as genuine Nismo parts. Considering the somewhat makeshift nature of these components at the preview we’re not entirely sure if they’re ready for market, but we’re eagerly waiting for them to show up in the next Nismo catalogue - as are all you track junkies, we presume.

Inside Line also shot some footage of the 370Z in action, and it’s the first time we’ve been able to clap ears on the Z’s glorious new engine note. It’s a truly sonorous noise, so do yourselves a favour and check out the video below.
